ask password

Justin Sloan-2
Hello all,

I am trying to use the "ask password" command to mask the password input that eventually gets sent to the *nix shell. Problem is, when the user puts in their password, "it" returns seemingly random characters instead of the unmasked password. Any ideas?_______________________________________________

Re: ask password

Jeffrey Massung
The return value is encrypted. Check the dictionary entry for the "clear"
keyword and how it's used. That will solve your problem.

Try "ask clear password"

ask password (w/o the word clear) will encrypt the input thereby encrypting
the contents of "it"
